TIPS:

Try not to use the word "diet" for any change in eating habits. Instead, modify eating over time to incorporate a "lifestyle change" that will continuously evolve.

Simple tip: Drinking a 16 oz glass of water 15 minutes prior to meals can help decrease the portion sizes that are eaten.

She has a special interest in nutrition and exercise not only because she sees the impact both have on her patients and their families but also because she was morbidly obese most of her life.

She is married and has four children.

TIP:

Most all of us know the things we need to do to become healthier. There is so much information available through the internet, in magazines and on television. What many of us lack is not desire to change but the motivation to do so.

Those who are most successful achieving their goal to lead a healthier lifestyle do best in groups. In every work place or neighborhood there is an opportunity to work together. Issue your friends or colleagues a challenge that either targets weight loss or exercise and build in accountability. Appoint someone to keep statistics. In addition to improving overall health, working together enhances relationships.
