PLAQUEMINE, LA (WAFB) -

Police say 27-year-old Dewayne Smith from White Castle was shot and killed during a parade in Plaquemine on Mulberry and Harleaux.

The Plaquemine City Police Department identified the shooter as 25-year-old Akeem O. Gailes.

He is wanted on one count of 2^nd Degree Murder in the shooting death of Smith during the Plaquemine Community Mardi Gras Parade on Sunday.
