PORT ALLEN, LA (WAFB) -
An 18-wheeler driver is lucky to be alive after his big rig overturned and caught fire Wednesday morning.
The crash happened in the curve on LA 415 to merge onto US 190 West in Port Allen just before 10 a.m.
When the semi flipped, the fuel tank underneath broke, causing the cab of truck to burn.
The driver had to be broken out of the windshield.
He was taken to the hospital.
The extent of his injuries is unknown.
His name was not released.
The tractor trailer was hauling a load of coconut oil.
